One of its cause could be a family history where all or some of the members of the family for generations deal with the same problem. A diet containing processed and fatty foods is consumed regularly leading to unhealthy body. Moreover due to technological revolution, sedentary work style is set involving negligible exercise which further contributes to weight gain.
Alongside, there is a contribution of mental stress, poor sleep, hormonal changes specially in the women.
Yoga, here can play a vital role in helping you to lower your stress and balance the hormones which ultimately improves your mood. Burning calories with increase in the muscle mass and tone can rightfully utilise the fats helping in creating good cholesterol.
